A more extensive photo report will soon follow.
This Beneteau First 25 S is equipped with a manually operated lifting keel and 2 rudders with blades. This makes this ship extremely suitable for both large lakes and shallow water in for example friesland or waddensea. By applying 2 rudders, the boat also keeps a good rudder when inclined. The stern is very wide which provides a lot of space in the cockpit.
In the cockpit there is a gasbun, the dashboard of the Yanmar 14 hp diesel engine and 2 very spacious crates. All lines on the ship are guided towards the cockpit, which means that the boat can be safely sailed from the cockpit with a small crew.
The rigging of this Beneteau is very modern with a mast with diamond standing rigging. The sailing plan consists of a squaretop mainsail and a high aspect jib, both of North sails in Dacron. The High aspect jib makes tacking a piece of cake. The jib can be rolled up on the furler. The sheets of the jib are operated by means of two Harken 15 Self Tailing Radial winches.
The interior of this Beneteau First 25 S is spacious for the size of ship. When entering the ship there is a chart table on the starboard side, with the switch panel for the electricity. On the port side is the galley with a 2 burner gimbal gas stove, a cooler with a compiler element which is accessible from above and a sink with cold water.
Further forward there are 2 longitudinal benches with the dining table in between. the starboard bench can be converted into a double bed.
Just before the mast is the hand-operated underwater toilet and a fountain and in front of the boat a fixed double bed.
